Old Photos I Found Recently

I was going through my photos and CDs forr the last couple of years and found these two that I loved but never knew what to do with them. I have new found editing skills and although they are not the best skills yet, these are way better than they were SOOC.

So here is my sister at La Jolla near the cove they have saved for the seals on 5-17-2007.

And this is a spot right next to the seal cove. I actually liked it SOOC, but the edit just enhances I think.

Just a quick update.

So all my recent pictures are still on film. Like the ones for this weeks scavenger hunt and the one I want to put into the POTW. I have a back-up for that one, but it is not as good. I'll still share because I like to share my pics. Makes me feel good to do something with my hobby. Maybe when Michael is older I'll see if Aunt Susan needs a second shooter and if I've advanced enough I might even be able to match her. Probably not, but it is a good goal!

Anyways, we get paid tomorrow so maybe in a couple days I'll have the pictures and can play.

Are you KIDDING me?!

This! This is what my point and shoot started doing. I was hoping it wouldn't be a part of the picture, but boy was I wrong. I love, love, LOVE this picture too! I am so upset at my camera. It took good ones in between these streaked ones. Now the only camera I feel comfortable using is the 35mm Canon Rebel, which is a great camera and takes great pictures, but I don't have access to the pics right away, if I can even get them developed. Takes $ that I am sure my hubby will want to spend on it, no matter what he says now.

I am just truly bummed right now.

Oh Yay!!!

OOOhhhhh!Oooh! There is a Scavengrer Hunt on the photography board! Count me in for trying! I think some from yesterday at Hagg Lake will fit the bill for one of them. Here is the list... GO!

1. Black and White

2. Happy

3. Wet

4. Knob

5. Made of Wood

The black and white is this weeks POTW, so that one is taken care of. I'm going to try to get Michael's face when Tommy eats his berlly for happy. Wet is from yesterdsy, the girls splashing through the water. I'm think about knob and made of wood. I'll have to make sure that I have my camera handy at all times.

B and W revised

So I asked for CC on the conversions I did in photoshop on faceblab, partially because I know my aunt will chime in and she is a pro so good at this type of stuff and partially cause I like other opinions that are not pros or hobbiest opinions.

My aunt showed me how to make my conversion better on this one... It is awesome now! Sharper and more detailed.

The rocks she showed me how to get more depth in the rocks because they were very gray. She also showed me how to use layers better and a different way of doing my conversions. I also love the way this turned out. But I never doubted my aunt. I knew she knew what she was talking about!

Now to remember those steps and recognize when I should use them!

B and W

So this weeks theme for the POTW challenge is National Pride so obviously I will not be entering that one! But NEXT week is all about the Black And White! Oh, Yes. My favorite. I will still try to take new pictures for it and see about converting them in PS (PhotoShop). For now I played with a couple of old pictures and I think they came out ok.

I'm a little concerned about the focus in this one. It looks like the eyes arre in focus, but just barely. Her ears defintely are. I miss this little girl, Inara. She was a sweet kitty and traveled with me from San Diego to Portland. So here she is!

This is a picture I got while visiting San Diego in June of '07. I have always loved Sunset Cliffs and it has been a favorite of mine for taking pictures.

This isn't one for the POTW contest, but one I dearly love! I got it tonight with my Point and shoot. It could be better quality I think, but his eyes are great anyways!

POTW Challenge: Shutter Speed

So I have no idea if this picture is a good one for this, but it is the ONLY one I have found that might constitute shutter speed. Which if I am guessing/remembering right is taking the picture of a moving object ... :-/ Not sure though. I'm hoping I can veiw some entrys to get an idea and go from there... It would've been great for last weeks topic of summer.

I don't know the settings when I took this picture, probably on auto at that time. But I Photoshopped it a little to something that I personally like better. So the first is the old one and the second is my try at PSing! Any constructive critism is appreciated!
